Penn: 2011 – 2012 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Philadelphia, PA — Two years ago, Penn made it to the finals of the Women’s National Team Championships (Howe Cup), where the Quakers lost 6-3 to Harvard. When the team came back last fall, they were missing almost half the players from that squad, as four seniors from the 2009-2010 top nine had graduated.

This season it’s a different story for Penn. The team has only lost one senior to graduation and will bring in four first-year players: Colleen Fehm, Leslie Gill, Jennie Shulkin, and Lindsay Wong. The Quakers will be a young squad, with no seniors on the roster. The good news? Whatever they achieve this season will only be the beginning, and the entire squad will be more experienced in 2012-2013.

The Quakers open Ivy League play with a chance to avenge a first-round 2-7 loss to Princeton at last year’s Howe Cup. Penn will host Princeton on December 3rd.
