St. Lawrence: 2010 – 2011 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Canton, NY — Over the past decade, St. Lawrence has been moving up the national rankings. In the 2008-2009 season, the Saints finally made the jump up into the B Division, where they also competed this season. For the 2009-2010 season, the Saints look to continue their progress and move up within the B’s.

The Saints only lost two players to graduation last season, number 6 Nick Pearson and number 10 Ben Ross. Among the returners are three players who earned All-Liberty League honors: Alex Dodge, Tyler Stout, and Amay Merchant, the 2009-2010 Liberty League co-Rookie of the Year.

Five new players will be joining St. Lawrence this season. Vir Seth is expected to play in the top 3, and Will Campo and Nate Ticho should play somewhere in the middle of the ladder. Max Frew and Will Hearty will be competing for spots in the top 9 and add to the Saints’ overall depth. Ticho was ranked 43rd BU19 last season, Frew was 79th, and Hearty was 146th.

The Saints will face some stiff competition early in the season, when they will travel to Vassar for the Liberty League Championships.
