Women’s College Squash Association Announces New Award

Northampton, MA — The Women’s Executive Committee recently announced that a new team award will presented at the National Team Championships (Howe Cup) in late February.

The new award, which is currently called the Most Improved Team Award, will honor the team that displays the most significant improvement. The award will be renamed at a later date.

Teams that have improved in the national rankings from the previous year will be considered nominees, and then be voted on by the membership at the National Team Championships.  In evaluating the nominees, the membership will be asked to consider both the number of spots a team has improved in the rankings as well as the strength of the opponents they have surpassed.

The new award will be similar to the Barnaby Award, which the Men’s College Squash Association presents to the most improved team each year.
