Hobart College: 2009 – 2010 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

hobartGeneva, NY – The 2009-2010 Hobart squash team has its sights set on moving up the rankings.  Last year, the Statesman finished 28th in the national rankings and fourth in the Conroy Cup.  With seven of last season’s top nine players returning, the outlook for this year looks promising.

During the off-season, Hobart presented awards to several members of its squash program.  Graduating seniors Cale Forgues and Peter Hansen shared the Dr. Frank P. Smith Award for team leadership, while Kenny O’Connor earned the Most Improved Player Award.  Returning player Alex Khaddar was presented with the R. Chapin Siebert Memorial Squash Trophy.  In addition, Kevin Kent was presented with the Rookie Award.

Head coach Carol Weymuller has set goals for the season. “Our performance goal is to improve through out the season and peak for the National Team Championships at Yale,” she says.  “Our outcome goal is to improve on our 2008-2009 National Ranking.”

Additions for the 2009-2010 Roster:
