Georgetown: 2009-2010 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

georgetownWashington, DC — Georgetown has quickly emerged as a formidable new team in women’s college squash.  The Hoyas won the Emerging Teams division of Howe Cup in 2008 and battled for the Epps Cup last season.  This season, the team hopes to move up in the rankings.

According to captain Kiran Gandhi, the team has many goals for the 2009 – 2010 season. “The goals for the team this year include improving our ranking, increasing fundraising efforts by reaching out to more supporters of the team, and establishing ourselves as a well-run and hardworking team in the eyes of the University so as to start laying the groundwork for becoming a varsity team.”   Given the team’s performance over the past few seasons, varsity status appears to be a real possibility.

The Hoyas are looking forward to matches against Connecticut College, the University of Vermont, and Haverford.
