September 8, 2026 of a prospective student-athlete’s junior year (11th grade) is the first permissible date for direct recruiting communication. Beginning that day, prospective student-athletes and college coaches can communicate directly.
Start Here: Get Recruiting Ready
While conversations with coaches will have to wait until September 8, 2026, there are plenty of ways to get a head start.
01
Explore College Options: Research academic, athletic, and campus cultural fits across varsity and club programs. View CSA Varsity Programs →
02
Update Your Club Locker Profile: Make sure your contact email address and high school graduation year are accurate and up to date so coaches can find and contact you.
03
Build Your Resumes: Create a clean summary of both your squash achievements and academic profile (GPA/transcript).
04
Prepare Coach Outreach: Draft introductory emails expressing specific interest in programs and coaching staffs.
Make Academics a Priority: Strong academics are the foundation of the recruiting process. Admissions standards vary widely by institution, so understand requirements early and keep your grades a priority.
Take Ownership & Be Proactive: Lead your own recruiting journey. Once communication opens on September 8, don’t wait for coaches to reach out—contact them directly to introduce yourself and share your interest.
Do Your Homework & Find the Right Fit: Keep an open mind across varsity and club programs. Look beyond squash to consider academics, location, team culture, and overall campus life before reaching out.
Sportsmanship Counts: Coaches recruit the whole person. How you compete, interact with officials and opponents, and carry yourself on and off the court matters just as much as results.
What to Expect Playing in College
College squash is more than the matches. It’s high-level competition, a built-in community, and a shared experience that can become a highlight of your college years.
The Season: Competition typically runs from late October through early March, culminating with postseason championships.
The Team: Rosters typically include 10–20 players, with nine matches making up a varsity dual match.
The Schedule: Most teams compete in 10–20 matches throughout the season, including weekend competition and travel.
The Commitment: Expect daily team activity throughout the season, whether through practices, training, conditioning, or travel for matches and championship competition. Many teams also hold captain-led practices before the season begins and after it concludes.
Built-In Community: From the moment you arrive on campus, your team gives you an immediate community of teammates, friends, and mentors to share the college experience with.
