Week 11 of the College Squash Association season delivered. As the calendar turned to February. With the championships looming every game matters.

Four matchups highlighted the weekend slate, each delivering intensity. Here is a closer look at the scorecards from the weekend’s biggest contests:

Men: MIT (13) at Amherst (16)

Result: MIT def. Amherst, 7–2

No. 13 MIT earned a strong 7–2 road victory over No. 16 Amherst. Entering the match, Amherst held an 8–5 edge in the all-time series between the two programs.

Competing on the road against a strong opponent that has historically had the upper hand in the series, MIT delivered a great perfornce. The Engineers secured wins from Hyun Su Price (No. 1), Mero Elmarassy (No. 4), Rishabh Sharma (No. 5), Isaac Torchinsky-Field (No. 6), Zachary Starr (No. 7), Eddie Xue (No. 8), and Sean-Winston Luo (No. 9).

Amherst’s two points came from Devon Osborne (No. 2) and Joseph Toth (No. 3).

Men: Rochester (21) at Hamilton (22)

Result: Rochester def. Hamilton, 6–3

No. 21 Rochester earned a 6–3 road victory over No. 22 Hamilton in a closely contested matchup between the two ranked programs.

Rochester secured straight-game wins from Gilberto Noe Aceves Moreno (No. 1), Dhirren Rajarathinam (No. 2), Alejandro Valderrama (No. 3), and Youssef Azzam (No. 4). Arjith Mathew clinched a key five-game victory at No. 5 over Jacob Li (11-9 in the fifth), and Eric Wu added a four-game win at No. 8.

Hamilton’s three points came from Lucas Walden (No. 6), Cooper Jessop (No. 7), and William Gianopulos (No. 9).

Women: Pennsylvania (2) at Princeton (4)

Result: Princeton def. Pennsylvania, 6–3

No. 4 Princeton earned a 6–3 home victory over No. 2 Pennsylvania in a highly anticipated Ivy League matchup. The win strengthens Princeton’s position in the national picture and marks one of its most notable results of the season.

The Tigers were tested throughout the lineup, with two five-game victories proving pivotal. Sonya Sasson (No. 9) and Caroline Eielson (No. 5) each prevailed in five, while Hermione Cao (No. 8) added a four-game win. Princeton also secured straight-game victories from Alex Jaffe (No. 2), Sam Jaffe (No. 6), and Liyen Teoh (No. 7).

Penn’s three points came from Malak Khafagy (No. 1), Malak Taha (No. 3), and Sohaila Ismail (No. 4).

Women: Colby (18) at Bowdoin (17)

Result: Bowdoin def. Colby, 6–3

No. 17 Bowdoin earned a 6–3 home victory over No. 18 Colby in the latest chapter of the Maine rivalry, with several tightly contested matches throughout the lineup.

Bowdoin secured wins from Clare Collins (No. 4), Linley Grosman (No. 5), Amelie Matuch (No. 6), Elizabeth Kennedy (No. 7), Cory Spiegel (No. 8), and Mira Karande (No. 9). Grosman prevailed in a five-game battle at No. 5, while Matuch and Kennedy each earned four-game victories. Collins, Spiegel, and Karande recorded straight-game wins.

Colby’s three points came from the top of the ladder, as Laavanya Kugan (No. 1) won in five games, and Nathalie Sim (No. 2) and Abhisheka David (No. 3) each secured 3–0 victories.


Around the League: Men’s Division

Colby (16) earned a 5–4 road win over Bowdoin (20) on Sunday in the latest installment of the in-state rivalry, a close result as both teams prepare for championship play.

Amherst (14) responded to its Friday loss to MIT by edging Middlebury (17), 5–4, in another tightly contested match.

At the top of the rankings, Pennsylvania (3) continued its strong play with a 6–3 victory over Princeton (8).

Columbia (7) split its weekend, defeating Cornell (10) 8–1 before falling to top-ranked Trinity (1) by the same 8–1 margin.

Around the League: Women’s Division

Stanford (3) completed a 3–0 weekend on the East Coast, opening with a win over Columbia (15) on Friday, edging Yale (9) 5–4 on Saturday, and closing the trip with a victory over Cornell (8) on Sunday.

Dartmouth (11) picked up a 5–4 victory over Tufts (10) on Sunday in one of the tighter matchups of the weekend.

Dickinson (23) played three consecutive 5–4 matches, falling to St. Lawrence (20) on Friday, defeating Haverford (27) on Saturday, and closing the weekend with a narrow loss to Franklin & Marshall (24) on Sunday.
