During the October CSA Coaches Meeting, the College Squash Association discussed the recruiting calendar, including the possibility of moving the current September 1 recruiting start date to later in a prospective student-athlete’s junior year.
At this time, no changes have been made, and no decisions have been made regarding the recruiting timeline. The CSA is in an information-gathering phase, and the existing recruiting rules (September 1 start date) remain fully in effect.
Based on the October discussion, the CSA is moving forward with a structured review. As part of this process, the CSA is forming a small task force that will include coaches, compliance officers, and individuals with relevant experience. The group will study models used in other sports, consider differences between Division I and Division III programs, and evaluate the broader academic and athletic landscape. The task force will ultimately provide a recommendation to the CSA Rules & Regulations Committee.
The current plan is for a final proposal to be reviewed and voted on at the Spring Coaches Meeting in April 2026. If a change is approved, the earliest class affected would be current high school freshmen (graduating in 2029), ensuring appropriate lead time for programs and families. Current sophomores and juniors will not be affected by a potential change.
The CSA’s goal is to approach this review thoughtfully, collaboratively, and transparently. Updates will be shared as the process moves forward, and we encourage the community to rely on official CSA communications for the most accurate information.
