The No. 14 Williams defeated No. 15 Georgetown in the CSA Women’s Match of the Week. After a tough round of matches in the fall, Williams starts off the second half of the season strong with a 6-3 win.
The young team, consisting of seven first-years, put in work physically and mentally during the winter break. While the team was prepared to take on Georgetown, even with a strong 4-1 start, the “match was anything but decided” Interim Squash Coach, Hesham Aly, shares. Throughout the match, “Georgetown showed why they are going to be a tough team to contend with down the line” Aly comments.
Williams went 3-0 for the weekend taking down Georgetown, Franklin & Marshall and Dickinson. The team is finding their confidence and has some good momentum as they continue to strive for a top 12 ranking.
