In an effort to recognize the on-court performance of our players, one women’s player and one men’s player will be highlighted for their accomplishments during each month of the season. CSA congratulates our December Players of the Month Dina Rosli (Drexel) and Sanjeev Jeyabalan (Tufts).
CSA Women’s Player of the Month – December
Dina Rosli, Drexel University
Dina Rosli, a sophomore from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, dominated her opponents 2-0 in this month’s intercollegiate play. Rosli faced some tough competition against a pair of top-10 opponents to start off December’s matches. She took down Columbia’s #5 in an exciting 5-game match (11-8, 6-11, 6-11, 11-5, 11-2), but that was just a warm up for what was to come. Later in the weekend, Rosli was down 8-4 in the fifth against Yale’s #5. She saved a match ball at 10-9 and secured a clutch win helping Drexel to its first ever program win against Yale. Rosli is 5-0 this season and 22-1 for her career.
CSA Men’s Player of the Month – December
Sanjeev Jeyabalan, Tufts University
Sanjeev Jeyabalan, a senior from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, went undefeated in CSA December matches with wins over St. Lawrence, Dartmouth and MIT. He showed his determination and passion playing through an injury to defeat Dartmouth’s #5 in a close five-game battle (11-9, 4-11, 13-11, 1-11, 12-10). A few days later, Jeyabalan had a massive victory in five games over MIT’s #5 that led to a 5-4 win for Tufts men’s team. He was down 2-0 and fought back to take home the win (7-11, 3-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-8). Jeyabalan is 4-1 heading into the break.
