2017 College Squash Individual Championships: B Draws and A Consolation Finals

College Squash AssociationHanover, NH — Congratulations to the winners of the B draws and the consolation finals!

Women’s B Division

North: Margaux Losty (Cornell) defeated Alex Toth (Princeton) in five close games. Losty won the first game 14-12, and the match stayed close until the fifth game, which Losty won 11-4.

South: In the South final, Alyssa Mehta (Harvard) played Zandra Ho (Stanford). Mehta defeated Ho in three games to win the final.

East: Lakeesha Rarere of Trinity won her first game against Madlen O’Connor of Columbia. O’Connor came back to win the next two games, but Rarere regrouped to win in five.

West: Colette Sultana of Columbia dropped her first game to Drexel’s Ryan Morgan. Sultana came back to win the next three games and the West final.

Men’s B Division: 

North: Spencer Lovejoy (Yale) won the first game of the North semifinal against Lawrence Kuhn (Rochester). The next three games went to Kuhn, who won the match 3-1.

South: Moustafa Bayoumy (St. Lawrence) had a decisive 11-4 game one against Jamie Oakley (George Washington). The next two games were closer, but Bayoumy won in three.

East: The first two games of the final between Affeeq Ismail (Trinity) and Ricardo Lopez (Rochester) went to tie-breakers, with Ismail winning the first game and Lopez taking the second. Ismail went on to win the match in four games.

West: Tomotaka Endo (Rochester) and Belal Nawar (St. Lawrence) traded the first two games of their final. Endo claimed the last two games to win 3-1 and capture his second Molloy final.

Ramsay Cup (Women’s A Division): Laila Samy (Wesleyan) defeated Vanessa Raj of Trinity in five games to win the Ramsay Cup consolation final.

Pool Trophy (Men’s A Division): Trinity’s Michael Craig defeated teammate Rick Penders in four game to win the Pool Trophy consolation final.
