Bates: 2016 – 2017 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Bates College Lewiston, ME — Entering the 2016 Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championships, Bates was the 3rd seed in the Walker Cup. The Bobcats made it to the finals and posted a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over NESCAC rival Amherst to hoist the Walker Cup. With the graduation of one senior, the Bobcats’ line-up appears deep this season. After all, they are expecting first-year players to enter each third of their ladder. This added strength should help propel Bates into back into the Kurtz Cup. The squad will be led by senior co-captains Emma Dunn and Charlotte Cabot. In September, Bates will hold its annual hike and team barbecue. Head coach Pat Cosquer is excited about new technology at the Bates squash facility. “We installed a new video analysis system which compliments our scoreboards and live match results displays and will allow us to display, watch, record, playback and record everything that happens on each of our courts with audio,” explains Cosquer. Look for the Bobcats to return to the Kurtz Cup this season.
