Amherst, MA — On the weekend of January 15th – 17th, the 2016 Pioneer Valley Invitational was hosted by Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College.
On the second day of the three-day event, Amherst College faced the Naval Academy. The match was played at Amherst College.
In the match at the #1 position, Noah Browne (Amherst) played Jack Herold (Navy). Browne captured the match in three games (12-10, 11-9, and 11-9). The Midshipmen defeated Amherst, 8-1.
Navy concluded the season ranked 14th in the nation and 7th in the Hoehn Cup (B Division). Amherst finished the year ranked 22nd in the country and 6th in the Summers Cup (C Division).
