Wesleyan: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Wesleyan University

Middletown, CT — Last season, Wesleyan University captured five of seven 5-4 matches. With six returning players from their Team Championship line-up, that experience and poise will benefit the 2015 – 2016 squad. The team is expecting three first-year students to compete for spots on the ladder. According to head coach Shona Kerr, “If we can stay healthy and compete to our ability, there could be some great wins over top 16 teams for this group.” Tim Bacon, who retired from Smith College at the end of last season, will be joining the Cardinals as an assistant coach. His sports psychology expertise will only strengthen the resolve of the tough squad. In January, Wesleyan hopes to take their ninth straight training and volunteering trip. The squad plans to visit San Diego, where they will train and volunteer at the Access Youth Academy. “This is a sincerely committed, passionate group of young men that are training to be the very best they can be for both themselves and their teammates. We’re striving to be more than a collection of individual players; we’re striving to be a team that will make memorable experiences happen both on and off the court,” states Kerr.
