Conn College: 2015 – 2016 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Connecticut CollegeNew London, CT — Conn College enters the 2015 – 2016 season having lost two players to graduation. Yet the Camels are upbeat about the coming season. After all, they are expecting two first year students to join their top 3 and another to join the middle of the ladder. Head coach Ted Childs is focused on moving up the rankings. To accomplish this goal, Childs states that the Camels need “to be a better fit team, and have our young team keep building on the match experiences they learned last year from playing in the college ranks.” He goes on to explain that Conn College needs to “play more aggressively, while having outstanding sportsmanship.” The Camels performed well in 5-4 matches last season, including a 5-4 win in the final match of Team Championships. Conn College recognizes that the competition will be tough again this season and has identified matches with Tufts, Willam Smith, Virginia, Mt, Holyoke, Wellesley and Dickinson as keys to a successful season. If the Camels’ new players give them a boost and they remain healthy, look for Conn College to be in the mix for the Epps Cup.
