Mount Holyoke: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Mount Holyoke College South Hadley, MA — After an upstart Drexel squad bounced Mount Holyoke out of the Kurtz Cup main draw in the first round of the Women’s National Team Championships, the Lyons found themselves outside the top twenty for the first time since the 2005-2006 season. Expect the defending Seven Sisters champions to regain some of their old form this season. Almost the entire line-up from last year’s championships will be back, and senior Katrina Intal will be back from study abroad. Junior Dachelle Parker may be back from injury as well. The three new players joining the team bring a range of squash experiences with them: Sanjna Merchant hails from Mumbai, India; Allison Shilling played at Choate; and Amy Sanchez is a SquashBusters alumna. Key matches for the team will be Colby, Wesleyan, and Hamilton. “These were close matches last year and getting those matches to go our way will make a big difference,” says newly appointed head coach Erin Robson.
