Annandale-on-Hudson, NY — Academics have been a bright spot for Bard’s squash program. Five of Bard’s starters earned Liberty League All-Academic honors last season. This season, the Raptors hope to have increased success on court as well as off. “Bard’s team goal for this year it to move up to the next division and build a strong team for the future,” reports head coach David Ames. While the team lost six starters to graduation, the two new players joining the team are expected to play in the top three. “We have been putting substantially more energy into recruiting and are very happy to finally have wide courts,” Ames says. “Our key matches for this year are Vassar, Bryant, and Swarthmore. We have always had good close matches with them and hope to come out on top this year.” Those wins would help move the Raptors closer to their goal of competing in the F Division.
