Naval Academy: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Naval Academy, United States Annapolis, MD — With a new doubles court under construction, the Naval Academy is poised to become a doubles powerhouse. The team of Hunter Beck and Andrew McGuinness reached the men’s doubles final last season, and one of the team’s goals is to win an intercollegiate doubles title. The addition of Allison Murray this year should give the Mids a shot at the mixed doubles crown as well. In team play, the Mids should be in the thick of the competitive B Division. Several new players will have an impact on the order. Reed Whitney is expected to play in the top three, and Randy Beck and Will Walker should play in the bottom three. Senior David Koenig will also be back in the line-up after recovering from an injury. Navy will continue to play more matches than any other team. In November, the team will hit the road for a team trip to San Francisco, where they will open the season against Cal and Stanford. The Mids will also continue their volunteer work with Baltimore’s SquashWise and  Philadelphia’s SquashSmarts.
