Brunswick, ME — Bowdoin had an underwhelming end to last season. After a decisive first-round victory over Wellesley in the C Division of the Women’s National Team Championships, the Polar Bears went out on two lopsided losses to Wesleyan and Amherst. “Everyone from last year’s team returns so we get a do-over,” explains Bowdoin head coach Tomas Fortson. With added experience, the Polar Bears should be even stronger this season. They will also have benefit of having Demi Angelakis back in the line-up. Angelakis is returning from injury and should challenge for a spot in the top 3. The team, which will be led by tri-captains Bonnie Cao, Elizabeth Schetman, and Torey Lee, will have lots of opportunities to play at home this season. Bowdoin is hosting a number of events throughout the season, including the Maine Open Tournament on November 9-11, and two January round robins. There are also plans for a Division III individual tournament, and Bowdoin is slated to host that event.
