Boston, MA — Boston is a frequent stop for many teams on the college squash circuit, and Northeastern will be co-hosting two tournaments in the first half of the season. The Huskies will join forces with MIT and Wellesley and co-host one round robin in November and another in December. The tournaments should give the Huskies opportunities to play a range of different teams, and the exposure should help them stay competitive in the E Division. Co-captain Olivia Simone will be back from study abroad and should help fill in the hole left by Cami Viola in the top 3; Viola will miss the season due to an internship in New York. Choate’s Kitty Cheung will also join the team and is expected to play in the middle of the order. The Huskies are on the lookout for a new coach following the departure of Pedro Souza, last season’s coach and a former member of the men’s team. Northeastern had a challenging season last year, posting a 1-11 record, but there will be many opportunities for the Huskies to improve this season.
