Around the Courts: College Squash Highlights (1/8/2012)

College Squash AssociationNorthampton, MA — The 2011 – 2012 college squash season resumed this weekend.

Navy travelled to Maine to face Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates.  The Midshipmen earned three wins in their trip to the Pine Tree State. They shutout Bowdoin, defeated Colby 8-1 and Bates 7-2.  The Williams men also defeated Bowdoin on Saturday.

The 10th-ranked Bates women defeated 9th-ranked Williams by a score of 7-2. On the men’s side, Williams defeated Bates.

Yale visited Amherst. The Bulldogs defeated both Amherst squads 9-0.

On Sunday, 4th-ranked Rochester hosted 3rd-ranked Princeton in an eagerly anticipated matchup. The Yellowjackets were hoping to repeat history. During the 2009 – 2010 season, Rochester hosted and defeated Princeton in a December match. This season, however, Princeton defeated Rochester.

Coaches and Team Contacts, please remember to enter your team’s results in the US Squash Scoring System on the day of each match. Each player must be named in the results (“Not on Roster” entries will not be tolerated) or penalties may be applied.

Coaches, Team Contacts, and SIDs may nominate players to be the Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week by contacting Michael T. Bello. Nominations are due each Monday by 6 PM ET.
