Celebrating Collegiate Squash History
The College Squash Association is excited to announce the 2026 CSA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, to be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Philadelphia, alongside the CSA National Team Championships.
This special evening will celebrate the individuals whose achievements, leadership, and lasting contributions have helped shape collegiate squash. Hosting the ceremony during championship weekend creates a unique opportunity to bring together players, alumni, coaches, administrators, and supporters to honor the sport’s history while celebrating its present and future.

2026 CSA Hall of Fame Honorees
Amanda Sobhy
Harvard University
2011 - 2015Amanda Sobhy is arguably the greatest player in college squash history. Competing for Harvard from 2011–2015, she compiled an unprecedented 62–0 collegiate record playing No.1 for the Crimson; she lost just two single games in those sixty-two matches.
Sobhy captured four consecutive national individual titles, becoming only the third player ever to achieve that feat. A four-time First Team All-American and four-time Ivy League Player of the Year, Sobhy helped lead Harvard to three national team championships. In 2015, she received the Betty Richey Award, honoring excellence, leadership and sportsmanship. Sobhy elevated college squash as she was the first player to break into the world’s top ten while still in school.
Baset Chaudhry
Trinity College
2006 - 2010Baset Chaudhry led Trinity during the height of one of the most sensational dynasties in collegiate sports history. A two-time national individual champion and a four-time national team champion, Chaudhry was known for his relentless work ethic, leadership as a team co-captain and ability to deliver in the sport’s biggest moments.
A brilliant athlete who was one of the first players from Pakistan to play college squash, Chaudhry compiled a remarkable 55–2 career record while playing the No. 1 position. His performances at the top of the ladder helped define Trinity’s remarkable run of success.
John Illig
Arthur Blasberg, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award
John Illig embodied the very best of college squash as a coach, mentor and visionary. Across nearly three decades at Colby, Bates and Middlebury, he built thriving women’s and men’s programs and guided teams to success on the court with an emphasis on sportsmanship and positive team culture.
A respected leader nationally, Illig served as president of both the Women’s and Men’s College Squash Associations and helped lay the groundwork for the unified College Squash Association. Known for his creativity, warmth and adventurous spirit, he inspired hundreds of student-athletes and fellow coaches. The legacy of John Illig will endure for generations to come.
