Northampton, MA — For the week ending 11/9/2014, Virginia’s Lindsay Bralower and Bryant’s Joshua Rubinstein have been named the women’s and men’s [hpow]. For the first [hpow] of the season, matches contested between October 15th and November 9th were eligible for nomination.

A [hpow] should have a significant impact on his or her team’s performance during the prior week and demonstrate sportsmanship. Coaches and Sports Information Directors may nominate players.

Lindsay Bralower (University of Virginia): Bralower, a sophomore, helped the University of Virginia open the season 5-0. On the Cavaliers’ trip to Boston last weekend, she went 4-0 at the #3 position by earning victories against Boston College, Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, and Smith. Her victories in the first wave of matches helped set the tone for a successful road trip for Virginia.

Joshua Rubinstein (Bryant University): In Boston on November 2nd, Bryant faced higher-ranked Boston College. In the match at the #7 position, Rubinstein played Robert Bohn. The two traded games until Rubinstein prevailed in the fifth (12-10, 3-11, 11-13, 11-4, and 11-7), which helped the Bulldogs defeat the Eagles, 5-4.
