Amherst, MA — The 2014 Pioneer Valley Invitational was hosted by Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College.
George Washington faced Bates on the second day of the three-day event. The Colonials defeated the higher ranked Bobcats, 8-1.
In the match at the number 1 position, George Washington’s Anna Porras faced Bates’ Nessrine Ariffin. Porras was down 0-2, but she came back to win both games 3 and 4, 17-15. In the fifth, she captured the match (10-12, 9-11, 17-15, 17-15, and 11-6).
At the Pioneer Valley Invitational, George Washington defeated Amherst, Bates, and Mount Holyoke. Bates defeated Amherst and Mount Holyoke.
