New London, CT — In the recent issue of Sports Illustrated, Connecticut College freshman Antonio Diaz-Gonzalez Salas was included in the “Faces in the Crowd” section of the magazine. Dating to 1956, “Faces in the Crowd” has featured thousands of top amateur athletes.
During an impressive freshman season, Diaz-Gonzalez Salas went 24 – 0 in dual match play. He was named to the NESCAC All-Conference team and was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Diaz-Gonzalez Salas helped lead the Connecticut College Camels to the Conroy Cup at the recent Men’s National Team Championships.
Diaz-Gonzalez Salas is from Mexico. He played prep school squash at St. George’s School.
