Amherst, MA — The annual Pioneer Valley Invitational was hosted by Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College on January 18th – 20th. There were eleven schools participating in the event.
On the second day of the event, Harvard faced Western Ontario. Harvard defeated host Amherst (9-0) and Western Ontario (8-1) at the Pioneer Valley Invitational, while Western Ontario defeated Amherst (9-0) and Boston University (9-0).
In the match at the #1 position, Ali Farag (Harvard) faced Albert Shoihet (Western Ontario). Farag captured the match in three games, which included a tight first game (11-9, 11-5, and 11-6)
