HISTORY OF BEYOND WALLS:
Founded in 2011, Beyond Walls is a Twin Cities based out-of-school time, youth development program. Our exceptional program combines physical fitness education -through the racquet sport of squash with academic mentoring, college readiness, and community service. Our multi-year commitment to our students makes a deep impact in the lives of youth in under-resourced communities. Beyond Walls strategically partners with the University of Minnesota and the Squash and Education Alliance, working with approximately 70 youth in grades 6th-12th from key Twin Cities partner schools and over 25 college mentors. Beyond Walls has a 100% graduation rate of its high school seniors and 100% student admission into four-year colleges.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
Beyond Walls seeks an organized, hardworking and determined leader to serve as its Executive Director. This position is an extraordinary opportunity for a talented and focused individual to lead an organization, be a community leader, and make a difference in the lives of youth from under-resourced neighborhoods. The Executive Director (ED) serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and is responsible for overall professional leadership and direction of the day-to-day operations of Beyond Walls. The ED supports and enhances the corporate Board of Directors’ efforts to provide strategic guidance and governance to the organization; creates and designs new programs in response to needs and opportunities; gathers financial resources necessary to accomplish the organization’s goals and serves as the primary representative of the organization to the general community, communicating the organization’s vision and plans to accomplish it.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION:
• Passionate about youth education, athletics, and ideally the game of squash
• Support Twin Cities’ youth on their journey through middle, high school, college and beyond
• Capability to continue to grow and build the Beyond Walls’ unique program. A natural born leader who is ready to roll up their sleeves and get involved in all facets of the program
• Ability to inspire individual, corporate and institutional donors to support Beyond Walls
• Partner with the board to promote their engagement and maintain quality governance with a sharp focus on culture, diversity and inclusion
• Strength in building relationships with the students, their families and key program stakeholders
