About College Squash Association
The College Squash Association (CSA) is the governing body overseeing men’s and women’s intercollegiate squash in the United States. CSA’s mission is to foster national intercollegiate varsity squash competition in service to elevating the values of sportsmanship, integrity and fair play for all student-athletes, coaches, and their affiliated institutions, encouraging academic excellence and increasing the opportunities to play college squash.
CSA invites applications for an intern position focused primarily on communications and marketing for the Association during the academic year. Interested applicants should be creative, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, ideally with experience writing articles, creating website content, and managing social media accounts. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the Executive Director/League Commissioner with daily CSA operations.
The intern will serve a variety of roles, with responsibilities that include:
- Reporting directly to the CSA Executive Director/League Commissioner
- Building upon a solid existing communications foundation, working in consultation with ED/LC to conceive of, design, and execute a new communications, marketing, and media plan.
- Contributing to the content management and visual aspects of CSAsquash.com and any new mobile delivery channels.
- Telling the stories of college squash via multiple platforms
- Tracking and maximizing website and social media analytics
- Working all CSA events, particularly the three national championships, and attending several regular season CSA dual matches between November and February.
Qualifications and Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficiency with a variety of technology/digital platforms, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, WordPress, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Desired Qualifications: Communications and marketing experience, preferably in college sports. Experience with the game of squash. Experience with video storytelling and production. Position needed from November to May.
The position can be based in New York City or Philadelphia but requires availability and ability to travel throughout the Northeast. A flexible or remote work arrangement may be possible. The position requires that the candidate possess a U.S. driver’s license which has been valid for at least two years. Their driving record must be free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and they must not have any convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Compensation: Candidates seeking credit towards a degree program are encouraged to apply. A small stipend commensurate with experience may be available. When traveling for CSA events, the intern will be offered a meal per diem and will be reimbursed for all travel and accommodation required for the events.
