Hamilton: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Hamilton CollegeClinton, NY — After graduating six players from last season’s Team Championships, Hamilton is not planning to slow down. In fact, the defending Conroy Cup (D Division) champions’ goal is to move into the Hoehn Cup (B Division) at this season’s Team Championships. The squad will have two first-year players and two players returning to the squad to help fill the voids of graduating players. Key matches for the Continentals will be Bowdoin, Colby, Conn College, Stanford, and Tufts. Last season, both of Hamilton’s 5-4 victories came against Conn College. According to head coach Jamie King, senior Josh Wolpert has been key for the Continentals during tight matches. “He’s been the deciding match in a couple of 5-4 wins during his Hamilton career. He rallied from two games down to win his matches against Colby and Drexel, leading the team to victory as well,” states King. As always with King’s squads, he wants the “program to strive to hold the highest ideals of character and provide the means to excel not only on the court but in the classroom and around campus.” Look for Hamilton to be in the mix for a position in the Summers Cup (C Division).
