Bates: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bates College

Lewiston, ME — Bates is poised for an impressive 2015 – 2016 season. After all, the Bobcats have two First Team All-Americans at the top of their ladder. One of those All-Americans, Ahmed Abdel Khalek, will be looking to defend his Pool Trophy (Men’s Individual Championship) title this season. The senior, who is the only male player to be named the NESCAC Player of the Year three times, is ready to earn his fourth honor. For the team to enter the top 10, the middle and lower three positions in their line-up will need to be more successful than last season. Consistent play throughout the line-up will assist Bates in capturing 5-4 matches. The squad will also need to fill the places of their three graduates. Head coach Pat Cosquer expects the remaining line-up to slide up to the vacant positions, with the five additions to the roster competing for the lower three positions. If the middle and lower sections of the line-up can increase their win percentages, Bates could surprise a lot of teams.
