Evanston, IL — Northwestern surprised many college squash fans last season. In only their second season of play, the Wildcats moved up to the 34th position in the rankings. This season, the squad wants to move up in the rankings and either win the E Division or play in the Epps Cup. This may be a challenging goal. Select trips to Boston last year allowed Northwestern to face Wellesley and Haverford, but the rest of their regular season schedule was weak. Northwestern also needs to stop facing the same team twice in the same day to demonstrate to the ranking committee that they are serious about their schedule. At Team Championships, Northwestern faced Dickinson for the E Division title. Although they lost that match, the experience should help motivate the squad for the upcoming season.
