South Hadley, MA — Mount Holyoke was hampered by injuries at key points last season. At championships, the team stepped up and finished sixth in the Walker Cup (C Division) and ranked 22nd overall. The Lyons lost five players from last season’s roster to graduation. This season, Mount Holyoke will be adding four new players. According to head coach Erin Robson, “Our goals are to improve upon last year’s finish and to develop as a team while rebuilding with new players.” The team is looking forward to matches with Wesleyan, Wellesley, and Tufts this season. Samantha Rosado, last season’s #3 at Team Championships, is returning for her senior campaign. She learned to play squash at Mount Holyoke. “Samantha is one of the hardest working players in the program. She continues to work hard to improve and refine her game. Samantha puts in extra time on the court and trains diligently. She also competes with great intensity and rises to new challenges,” states Robson. The Lyons would also like to regain the Seven Sisters crown this season. Look for Mount Holyoke to challenge for a position in the upper half of the Walker Cup.
