MIT: 2014 – 2015 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)Cambridge, MA — MIT never left the Boston area last year. With new coach Thierry Lincou that will most likely change, giving the Engineers an opportunity to face different opponents and build for the future. “We want to establish a solid foundation on which the MIT program can flourish. It will take the hard work of everyone involved to improve individually and as a team. We don’t necessarily care about how our ranking will change over the coming season, but believe that those sorts of results will come if we focus on playing the game the right way,” explains Lincou. MIT is returning 8 of its 9 players from last season’s Team Championships. The squad will have tri-captains: Gray Riley, David Bian, and Sarah Fay. Riley, who studies rocket science, is entering his 3rd year as captain. “He comes to practice everyday focused to improve individually as well as challenge his teammates to get better,” adds Lincou. As MIT prepares for the future, they will benefit from last year’s experience in close matches. The Engineers captured three of four 5-4 matches, including two against Boston rival Northeastern.
