Bowdoin: 2014 – 2015 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Bowdoin CollegeBrunswick, ME — Last season, Bowdoin finished by placing 3rd in the Walker Cup. At championships, 2014 graduate Michaela Martin was presented with the Wetzel Award, given annually to a senior who began playing squash in college and has progressed to a high level of skill, demonstrates sound understanding of the game, and exhibits good sportsmanship and a positive demeanor on the court. In total, Bowdoin lost 2 players from its Team Championship ladder to graduation. This season, 4 first-year students are joining the team and former #1 Torey Lee is returning. The team is looking forward to the utilizing the renovations done to the Lubin Squash Center. To improve, Bowdoin needs more success at the bottom of its line-up. The Polar Bears’ top and middle 3 captured 51% and 52% of their matches, respectively. However, the bottom 3 only captured 36% of matches. Look for Bowdoin’s large senior class to to be extremely motivated this season.
