Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week (2/9/2014)

Northampton, MA — For the week ending 2/9/2014, Middlebury’s Abby Jenkins and Williams’ Taylor Foehl have been named the women’s and men’s [hpow].

A [hpow] should have a significant impact on his or her team’s performance during the prior week and demonstrate sportsmanship. Coaches and Sports Information Directors may nominate players.

Abby Jenkins (Middlebury): This weekend, Middlebury’s senior co-captain, Abby Jenkins, won the inaugural DIII Individual Invitational. The tournament was hosted by Bowdoin. Jenkins defeated Nicole Feshbach (Williams), Ericka Robertson (Amherst), and Zoe Carey (Middlebury) to reach the finals. She faced Mount Holyoke’s top player, Randima Ranaweera, for the A division title. Jenkins captured the match in three games (11-5, 11-8, and 11-9).

Taylor Foehl (Williams): Foehl, William’s senior co-captain, had quite the challenge in the inaugural DIII Individual Invitational.  In each round he faced top players from different schools. To reach the finals against teammate Kevin Chen, Foehl faced Zachary Schweitzer (Tufts), Martin Bawden (Hamilton), John Steele (Wesleyan), and Noah Browne (Amherst). In the all-Williams final, Foehl defeated Chen in three games (13-11, 11-8, and 11-4).
