Bryant: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bryant University Smithfield, RI — With the full line-up from last season returning, the Bryant Bulldogs have good reason to be optimistic about the coming year. According to co-captain Nicholas Brewer, the team’s goal is to win “the Serues Division since we didn’t graduate anyone and have added another good player to our lineup.” That good player is Chase Ruben, who is expected to play in the top three. In preparation for their F Division campaign, the Bulldogs have signed on to the Navy Round Robin, which will increase the number of matches they will play during the season. As Brewer explains, there are two other key matches on their schedule: Boston University and Bard. “BU moved up a lot last season and our match against them will indicate how much we have improved ourselves. It will also give us an idea for how much we can move up in the rankings by how we play against them,” he explains. Though Bard has been ranked below the Bulldogs, the squad recognizes that they need to hold off the Raptors to maintain their ranking. “We are getting better every year and the only place we are moving in the rankings is up,” says Brewer.
