Williams: 2012 – 2013 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Williamstown, MA — Williams came so close last season to capturing the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at the Women’s National Team Championships. Williams entered the tournament as the fourth seed in the division. They defeated Columbia in the opening round and then knocked off top-seeded Middlebury in the semifinals. The Ephs lost 4-5 to Brown in the finals, which was one of the most exciting matches of the tournament. This season, Williams wants to capture the Kurtz Cup or move into the A Division. After the loss of three players to graduation, the Ephs will reload with three additions: Lily Grant, Nicole Fichbach, and Hailey Newbound. For the past few seasons, the teams ranked 7 – 14 in the nation have competed in a number of close matches. Williams is looking forward to matches with these teams, especially Bates, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Middlebury.
