2012 – 2013 Intercollegiate Squash Doubles Championships

Philadelphia, PA — The 28th annual Intercollegiate Doubles Championships will be held October 4-6th in Philadelphia, PA. The tournament will be hosted by the Racquet Club of Philadelphia and the Germantown Cricket Club.

In 2011, The University of Pennsylvania Quakers made the most of their hometown advantage and swept all three divisions of the Intercollegiate Doubles. In the second-ever women’s doubles championship, Penn co-captains Nabilla Ariffin and Pia Trikha defeated the team of Ashley Brooks and Nessrine Ariffin from Bates. In the men’s championship, Trevor McGuinness and Thomas Mattsson, another pair of Penn co-captains, defeated Matt Domenick and Adam Perkiomaki of Rochester. McGuinness teamed up with Colleen Fehm to defeat Pamela Hathway and Reinhold Hergeth of Trinity to win the first intercollegiate mixed doubles title.

The winners and finalists of the Men’s and Women’s draw will be offered free entry and travel expenses to participate in the U.S. Squash Doubles Championships in St. Louis, March 22-24, 2013 and Mixed finalists will be offered free entry into the U.S. Mixed Squash Doubles Championships in Greenwich, CT, April 27-29, 2013. This event will also offer ranking points for the SDA Pro Tour and WDSA tour (Men’s and Women’s Pro Doubles Tours).

There is no entry fee and each school is guaranteed one spot in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions. Please visit the tournament information page on the U.S. SQUASH website for more details or email doubles@ussquash.com.

The 2012 US Open Squash Championships will be held in Philadelphia, PA, (Drexel University) from October 4-12, 2012. Entrants in the 2012 Intercollegiate Doubles Championships will receive complementary tickets for the US Open.
