Bard: 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY — There’s good news coming out of New York: Bard is building four new international courts this fall. The Raptors have also joined the Liberty League, and former Penn head men’s coach Craig Thorpe-Clark will be back to help the team on a consulting basis.

All of this is encouraging news for a program that struggled last year, ending the season with just two wins and the weakest final ranking in program history. Don’t expect a repeat in 2011-2012, though. The Raptors have expanded their schedule to 20 matches, including the Navy Round Robin and the Liberty League Championships. The added match experience should serve Bard well when it comes time for the Men’s National Team Championships, and the new courts should help support the program’s health in the future.

Bard faces Vassar and Fordham early in the season, and those matches should be good tests for the team.
