Colby: 2010 – 2011 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Waterville, ME — For some teams, finding enough players to field a full squad can be a challenge. With nine players joining the team, Colby certainly won’t have that problem.

The new players come with prep and high school squash experience, and several have already played at the same schools. Roy Simpson III and Steve Carroll both come from Episcopal Academy, and Ted Rooney and Jordan Gowen come from St. Andrew’s. They’ll be joined by Deerfield’s William Scott, Kent’s William Chu, Woodbury Forest’s Paul Callahan, Boston High and SquashBusters’ Darryl Soto, and Poly Prep’s William Hochman.

These new players will compete for spots with an almost complete version of the squad that finished 23rd in the country last season. Only two of the Mules graduated last season, and Schyler Weiss and 2009-2010 captain Ken Cramer played at the bottom of the ladder. Senior captain Alex Fulton can draw on his experience leading the team last season as all the new and returning players sort out their positions in the line-up.

The Mules will definitely have more depth to draw on as they look to make it back into the top 20.
